Beth Havens

(she/her/hers)

beth_havens.pngBeth Haven’s first experience with Ohio Citizen Action was as Office Manager in our Columbus office from 1995-1997, after she graduated from Ohio State University with a degree in political science. She fondly remembers working with the staff, especially field canvassers, on our environmental and consumer mission.

After leaving the organization, she helped to raise over $1,000,000 for Opera Columbus, the Cincinnati Symphony and Pops Orchestras and other non-profit clients through tele-fundraising and later settled into a career in prospect research. She currently works with Cincinnati Children’s Hospital Medical Center as a Senior Prospect Researcher.

Beth takes inspiration for her activism from consumer crusader Ralph Nader who said, "Nothing can stop the power of an informed citizenry when it is empowered, organized, and motivated."

Besides environmental and consumer work, Beth is interested in curbing the influence of money in politics. When asked whys she’s joining the board, Beth said, "I’m looking forward to using my background in fundraising to help the organization raise more money to fund the work that needs to be done!”
